To be honest don’t think these engines are good for a beginner. Too much torque (low down power). I had a MT07, it was my first big bike, and I found it dangerous. Then I had a Tiger 800, more peak power, but a lot smother on lower revs, and I found it easier to control and so, safer. For a complete beginner I’d go with not more than 50hp (up to 500cc).

Love this bike - but the screen is a joke. I demo'd the MT09 right before having an hour on the GT+. The MT had no buffeting and it was a windy day - the GT+ felt like the screen was going to cone off and my head was battered no matter what position i set it too. Smaller screen needed.

Please make comparison between this and mt-09 face to face. Thanks!

Do like yoshi exhaust and been knowing about this one for a while, ever since it came out on rev zilla. Sounds good but it is absolutely hideous to look at. I rather fit a leo Vince Gp slip on it.

From the point of view of daily riding in urban conditions, I am interested in the acceleration of the bike in low revs. Having also ridden the Yamaha MT09, can you tell which of the two engines is more elastic? Which of the two engines has more torque at low rpm?

For the love of God, do not buy this bike until KTM stops making their camshafts out of cheese. I can only assume this will suffer the same fate as the 790 and 890 engines.

Good timing on this video. Wild I first subbed to you when you were under 10K. I sold my 16 ZX10 in 2020 thanks to Covid bullshit. I’ve been eyeballing the Duke 990 to ride something different if I don’t go track dedicated. Piece of me wants the Super Duke, but it’s expensive and insane.

The physical size and engine displacement of this thing are pushing it into supernaked territory where the competition is going to kill it. CB1000R, MT10, GSXS1000 all start within 1k and will walk this thing all day. I dig the side profile and the big guy friendly dimensions, just not sure where this is supposed to fit in the market.
